I'm no Home Secretary but...

...if the story in today's Times is true about 42 people having been caught trying to break into jails in the last five years, isn't it reasonable to assume that a certain number must have evaded detection. Are they still there? Have they come back out? Have they been released?

  2. Fish puns can be brought up in any conversation, if you are a dab hand at these things, basically this whole problem the solefault of New Labour in not fitting good enough Chubbs to the prison doors and all their carping on the media won't change any of this. As Alex Salmon said in the scottish....

Can I apologies David for setting the Fish-pun virus loose on your website. Mia culpa. It appears to be unstoppable.

  5. Honestly. I came round to this plaice for some stimulating reading and instead it's all carp barbs and groupers, floundering around. Still, no point in starting a sprat about it. It's a nice evening so I'm going trout on my pike.

  6. The last thing our overcrowded prisons need is people breaking into them when the clientele are already crammed in like sardines. You’d think it would be relatively easy to trawl an enclosed environment like a prison and net the culprits. I presume they’re low-level drug dealers, minnows in criminal terms and the authorities have bigger fish to fry.
