Staying with Ken Sharp in St Andrews. Dundee United train on the university's fields. You know they're here, says Ken, when there's a line of white BMWs parked down the road.
Why white BMWs, I wondered.
It's just the fashion, he said.
I thought he was exaggerating. Then I went round the corner and was confronted by this.
I hope they were all ticketed for parking on the pavement.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't surprise me! Also on telly: since Brian Clough none of them have anything interesting to say.
ReplyDeleteThird down's an Audi. Must be the foreign signing.
ReplyDeleteThird car along's an Audi. Must be the foreign signing...
ReplyDeleteexcellent picture, thank you!
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it, it's noticeable that when they play, ten out of the eleven tend to wear the same shirt…
ReplyDeleteSo funny...
ReplyDeleteDo they all still listen to George Benson?
ReplyDeleteAre they trying to out do each other by seeing how much of the car they can get on the pavement?
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Misinformed middle-class types hilariously comment on footballers.
ReplyDeleteThese cars will have been loaned to the team as part of their contracts. They could either say "no. I'd rather drive a Hyundai Accent Bluenote Eco bin" or accept a free car (maybe of their dreams)
They're free company cars all provided by the local BMW dealer no doubt.
ReplyDelete@ Simon Edmunds As an informed working (or upper?) class type, could you tell us why they're all illegally parked?
ReplyDelete@Simon Edmunds........ They may not be illegally parked. It is legal to park two wheels in the pavement where notification allows. There are similar parking rules on two roads within 200 yards of my house..
