Terrible, it gave me the feeling that our family calls "Conway Legs" a reference to my first experience of vertigo whilst climing the castle walls during a holiday in North Wales.
Apparently there is no spanish words for "health and safety executive". How the camera person avoided curling up in ball and sobbing is mystery to someone who had "moment" on the big escalators at wembley yesterday.
That made me want to cry with fright. I climbed to the top of a crumbling fortress in Syria about ten years ago. I got to the top and realised as I stood and waved at the ant-like people below that in order to get down again I had to continue walking around the whole edge which got thinner and more crumblier as you went on. Vertigo and utter panic got the better of me and the only way I could manage was to crawl on my hands and knees. It was horrible.
"I was watching that thinking "I've been there", so I clicked on the Wikipedia thingymagog and I have! El Choroo. Yes indeed.
I remember finding it interesting while I was there as my brother told me that a guy on a mountain bike did that whole path. Bunny hopping and what not."
Sorry David . I do not know what is wrong. If you put "b3ta dangerous pathway" in google you get a link to what looks exactly like the URL i pasted above. Ah the Internet.
Where the hell is that? I felt very ill watching that; it's one of my recurring nightmares, too...

ReplyDeleteConway Legs - is that when your legs get £25,00 a year for work they haven't done?
ReplyDeleteI've discovered that the location is the Caminito Del Rey in Malaga.

ReplyDeleteYou. Couldn't. Pay. Me. Enough.
ReplyDeleteWalking it would be bad enough. Filming it at the same time!?
At first, when I saw some guy clipped on to a guide wire I didn't think it would be too bad...

ReplyDeleteHow did you find this, Dave? (I don't even get vertigo but I think I've just developed it.)
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese version makes that one look pretty safe: http://www.bond-diamonds.com/fark/chinese.htm
ReplyDeleteYou'd hope to goodness there wouldn't be a cyclist coming the other way.
ReplyDeleteHave a look at this, as recommended by anonymous above. The word "awesome" is one of the web's more exhausted adjectives but in this case....

That last link doesn't work for me. Which is a shame because I'm figuring this is the best way to work through my insecurities.

I hope I don't have nightmares tonight - that last Chinese one made my knees feel all wobbly and want my Mum!
