always reminds me of U2 versus Echo and The Bunnymen in the eighties - the mighty 2 basically go and live in a bus in America until they break through while the Bunnymen were just too cool for all that hard work. Take a wild stab in the dark as to who the NME thought were 'cooler'? Are English bands scared of a bit of tough graft?
Dear God, you're absolutely right. In my defence it was pretty much the same year and the same gag. However, I am now at the age where my memory conflates different stories and I never challenge myself. That way madness lies.
